Carter Tanton graduated from Bard College where he studied photography with Stephen Shore & Larry Fink. After graduating he began a 15 year career in music as a multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter. He worked on Grammy award winning records, extensively toured the US, Canada, Europe & Australia and released records of his own which were featured in television and movies and reviewed worldwide.

In 2018, he returned to visual arts first working in fashion as a photographer and retoucher with designers such as Puppets & Puppets, Helmut Lang and Nike and publications like Index, Love Magazine, 032c and Arena HOMME+.

Soon after, his work moved towards design and he has since collaborated on many national ad campaigns, tv shows and select feature films building graphics, interactive screen prototypes and motion designs. He is a member of IATSE, USA Local 829.
